"Time Is A Circle" is a visual exploration of the way time imposes change upon every living thing – human beings, land, and the creatures around us. Simultaneously, through motherhood, time gives way to the ability to reexperience old memories, old feelings, and old situations through new eyes. Since giving birth to my child in January 2024, I am constantly reflecting on childhood, pondering my current life stage, and wondering about the phases of life that will come. I have dealt with anxiety and depression for most of my adult life, but since the birth of my daughter, I have dealt with intrusive thoughts and health anxiety as well for the first time in my life. The fear I feel of something happening to myself – leaving my daughter without a mother – or my daughter is sometimes debilitating and has affected my ability to think clearly. I watch my daughter experience these same moments but, unlike me, she is able to be fully present. My constant desire to fight the inevitability of time affects my ability to appreciate our experiences together. As I look forward to new moments with my daughter, those hopes are tinged with a feeling of worry that is common in motherhood.

I seek to document the feeling of passing time through this work.
